General Visa Information

The Consular Section of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Namibia accepts visa issuance requests BY ONLINE APPOINTMENT

Important Information for Applicants

  • Submission of documents is carried out by the applicant ONLY IN PERSON.
  • Visa processing starts only after the Consular Section has collected all necessary documents.
  • Only cash is accepted. The payment must be done together with submitting of your visa package documents. Visa processing fee is not refundable.
  • Visa fees for citizens of different countries are based on reciprocity with the country issued the passport. Please, consult our staff.
  • Type of visa or dates of entry/departure can not be changed or extended. If travel plans have changed after the visa issuance an applicant has to reapply for a new visa.
  • Any visa applicant may be interviewed by the consular officer, if necessary.
  • Processing time, requirements and fees are subject to change without notice.
  • In certain cases the Consular Section is entitled to consider visa applications as long as it necessary. Visa can be denied if the Consular Section has serious reasons to believe that an applicant's entry into or stay in the territory of the Russian Federation will not be desirable. Remember that you might be refused in issuing visa even if your papers seem to be in order. Explanations for visa refusal are not given under no circumstances. In case of refusal the fee is non refundable.
  • Person can not have two valid visas in one passport. In this case the first visa is to be cancelled.
  • Non-Namibian nationals must present valid Namibian Residence proof or Work Permit or Namibian non-citizen ID. If you do not have a long-term immigration status in Namibia you have to apply for Russian visa at our Embassy/Consulate in the country of your citizenship or permanent residence. 
  • ATTENTION OF AUSTRALIA, CANADA, GEORGIA, UK AND US CITIZENS! On reciprocity basis you have to use special visa application forms that are available in the Consular Section. Please apply in advance, we cannot guarantee an express visa service for you.  
  • ATTENTION TO TRANSIT PASSENGERS TRAVELLING THROUGH THE TERRITORY OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION TO THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS OR TO THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN. All transits to Belarus or Kazakhstan through Russia are considered to be internal flights and require Transit visas.
  • Filling out an application online through web-site https://visa.kdmid.ru/ is more preferable and will be considered smoothly.
  • Please note that filling out an application online is only one step of your visa application process, the Consular Section does not issue visas online.
  • All questions in the application form must be answered. If a question is not applicable, please use “None”. Applications with incomplete or unfilled items such as missing middle names or prior employments will not be accepted.
  • Information on the visa application must match the applicant’s passport and invitation. The information about your host organization is found in the invitation and must be indicated in the “Host organization” field of the application. 
  • In “Date of entry/exit into/from Russia” field please indicate the full period of the requested visa (as found in your invitation), not only the planned dates of your first visit. 
  • While filling out the application you can choose to “Save draft” before you are finished. You can then retrieve incomplete or finished applications using your application ID (assigned at the beginning of the process) and your password.
  • If you need to make changes to an existing application, please select “Get a new draft ID” and then “Next” after accessing a completed application. In this case your previous application is duplicated with a new ID allowing you to make changes before submitting and printing the corrected application.
  • Destination name must match the Embassy you're in fact applying at.
  • Please make sure to print out your application, sign and date it in the designated area at the bottom.
  • If you can't filling out an application online you can download a PDF-form for further filling out manually. The forms are posted on this page.
  • Filling the visa application form, write in capital letters, use black or dark-blue ink.  Don’t forget to sign your visa application form.

Depending on the purpose of your visit to the Russian Federation please find the following requirements for different Visa categories:

  • 1 Application form completed (https://visa.kdmid.ru/) and signed by the applicant with 1 photo (35mm X 45mm, colour) glued to the form.
  • Valid Passport (valid for at least 18 months from the date of the intended entrance to the RF).
  • ORIGINAL or ELECTRONIC invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation must be submitted to the Embassy's disposal. Telex confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia sent directly to the Consular Section is also acceptable. 
  • An HIV/AIDS negative test (not older than 3 months) must be provided if you plan to stay in Russia longer than 90 days.

The visa could be single-entry or double-entry.

  • 1 Application form completed (https://visa.kdmid.ru/) and signed by the applicant with 1 photo (35mm X 45mm, colour) glued to the form.
  • Valid Passport (valid for at least six months after the last day of the intended stay in Russia).
  • Tourist  Confirmation for Foreign Tourist, issued by any Russian tourist company authorized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia. This document is in the Russian language and contains the Company reference number, names of applicants, dates of their entry & departure from Russia.
  • Medical (Travel) insurance for the period of stay in Russia (only for citizens of Schengen member states, Israel and China).

The visa could be single-entry or double-entry.

  • 1 Application form completed (https://visa.kdmid.ru/) and signed by the applicant with 1 photo (35mm X 45mm, colour) glued to the form.
  • Valid Passport (valid for at least six months after the last day of the intended stay in Russia).
  • ORIGINAL or ELECTRONIC invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation must be submitted to the Embassy's disposal. Telex confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia sent directly to the Consular Section is also acceptable. These documents are supposed to be supplied to you by your relatives or friends residing in Russia.
  • Medical travel insurance for the period of stay in Russia (only for citizens of Schengen member states and Israel).

The visa could be single-entry or double-entry.

  • 1 Application form completed (https://visa.kdmid.ru/) and signed by the applicant with 1 photo (35mm X 45mm, colour) glued to the form.
  • Valid Passport (valid for at least six months after the last day of the intended stay in Russia).
  • ORIGINAL or ELECTRONIC invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation must be submitted to the Embassy's disposal. Telex confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the  Russian Federation sent directly to the Consular Section is also acceptable.
  • Medical travel insurance for the period of stay in Russia (only for citizens of Schengen member states and Israel).

The visa could be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry.

  • 1 Application form completed (https://visa.kdmid.ru/) and signed by the applicant with 1 photo (35mm X 45mm, colour) glued to the form.
  • Valid Passport (valid for at least six months after the last day of the intended stay in Russia).
  • ORIGINAL or ELECTRONIC invitation issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation must be submitted to the Embassy's disposal. Telex confirmation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia sent directly to the Consular Section is also acceptable.

  • Valid visa of the country of final destination.
  • Air ticket to Russia and from Russia to the country of final destination.

The visa could be single-entry or double-entry.

Transit visa cannot be issued for a stay longer than 3 days.

Check your visa immediately when you pick it up. The Consular Section will take no responsibility for any mistakes found in your visa after you leave our office.
